Green Building

What is Green Building?
Green building is the practice of increasing the efficiency with which buildings and their sites use and harvest energy, water, and materials thereby reducing building impacts on human health and the environment. This is achieved through better design, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal; the complete building life cycle.

Does Green Building Cost more?
It is important to consider:
More than what?

Our answer is No.

How do I begin a green project?
Although it is never too late to implement green practices, it is best begun when ideas are first formed and before complete architectural plans are drawn. You will need an architect or designer and a building contractor to inform you about the construction process, budgets and to empower you with the knowledge to make wise decisions. We can direct you to architects and designers that share much our philosophy if you have not already chosen one.

What is LEED?
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is a voluntary national standard in which construction and renovation projects earn credits toward certification as sustainable buildings.
